“Ekphrastic art” is defined as the response of an artist in one medium to a work of art by an artist in another medium. Its more common manifestation is in poetry written about visual art, e.g., paintings, photographs, drawings, sculpture. Poetic License is a project that turns that around, allowing local visual artists to respond to the work of poets.
Join poets, artists, and the community as we celebrate Poetic License 2025 at the Honest Weight Food Co-op with an artist reception and poetry reading.
Poets whose work was chosen by an artist to be included in this year’s exhibit will share the poem that inspired the artwork, as well as other pieces. Poets and writers not featured in the show will also have an opportunity to share their work during the open mic.
Light refreshments will be provided by Honest Weight Food Co-op.
